>Q4 2022 EBITDA far higher than expected - Block released its Q4 2022 results yesterday (after trading) and they came out better than expected. Gross profit grew by 40% y-o-y and by 6% q-o-q to $ 1,660m (css $ 1,634m). An analysis by segment shows that gross profit at Square Seller (services for retailers) reached $ 801m (css $ 782m) while that of Cash App (services for consumers) came to $ 848m (css $ 802m). Transaction value (GPV) increased by 14% y-o-y to $ 49bn. A...Square is a commerce ecosystem that combines software with hardware to enable sellers to turn mobile devices and computing devices into payment and point-of-sale solutions. With the company's offering, a seller can accept payments via magnetic stripe, Europay, MasterCard, and Visa, or Near Field Communication; or online via Square Invoices, Square Virtual Terminal, or the seller's website or app. Also, sellers can gain access to reporting and analytics, next-day settlements, digital receipts, payment dispute and chargeback management, security, and Payment Card Industry compliance. The company's Cash App enable individuals to send and receive money electronically to and from individuals and businesses.
