L’année a été marquée par la détérioration des marges brutes de raffinage à 28 €/tonne en moyenne en 2018 contre 34 €/tonne l’année dernière, et la raffinerie de Gravenchon a été arrêtée pour un grand arrêt planifié, chantier gigantesque qui a mobilisé plus de 2 000 personnes. Cela a bien entendu pesé sur les résultats financiers : résultat net est en perte de 127 M€ et comprend des effets stocks négatifs pour 40 millions d’euros. Ce résultat décevant a poussé le conseil d’administration à proposer à l’assemblée générale de ne pas verser de dividende pour l’exercice 2018.
Proxinvest note cette année encore que le Conseil d’administration n’est pas majoritairement indépendant: le taux d’indépendance déjà très faible, est désormais presque inexistant.
Comme chaque année, la société propose à ses actionnaires de renouveler intégralement son conseil d'administration. Si Proxinvest estime qu'il soit de bonne pratique que les actionnaires puissent se prononcer régulièrement sur la composition du conseil d'administration, il serait préférable pour la société de modifier la durée de mandat de ses administrateurs et de la porter à 2, 3 ou 4 ans.

Co.'s products are divided into two categories: Fuel on one hand and Lubricant and Specialties on the other hand. In addition, Co. operates a network of gas stations under the name Esso.
