General: Gerresheimer is a leading global partner to the pharma and healthcare industry. The Company's product portfolio includes pharmaceutical packaging and products for the administration of medicines: Insulin pens, inhalers, prefillable syringes, injection vials, ampoules, bottles and containers for liquid and solid medicines with closure and safety systems as well as packaging for the cosmetics industry.
Gerresheimer operates worldwide with over 40 plants in Europe, North American, South America and Asia and with around 10,000 employees. Following the sale of the Life Science Research business (a joint venture with Chase Scientific Glass Inc.) for a total transaction value of USD 131m to the Duran Group, a portfolio company of One Equity Partners, as of 31 October 2016, the Company's international business is split into two divisions: Plastics & Devices and Primary Packaging Glass.
As of 20 January 2017, NN Group N.V., APG Asset Management N.V. and BNP Paribas Investment Partners S.A. held between 5% and 10%, Eton Park (EP Overseas Fund Ltd. & EP Master Fund Ltd.), Franklin Advisory Services LLC, Templeton Investment Councel LLC and Old Mutual Plc held between 3% and 5% of the Company's shares. In financial year 2016, Group revenues increased by 7.2% to EUR 1.4bn, adjusted EBITDA increased by 17.2% to EUR 307.8m and net income attributable to shareholders of Gerresheimer AG increased by 16.7% to EUR 121.6m
