CIS EUROBOND MARKET
Russian sovereign and corporate Eurobonds closed flat, with the exception of metals issues, which sank 0.6-0.9 pp.

GOVERNMENT DEBT
The Finance Ministry yesterday placed R25 bln in the 16y OFZ 26225 (May 2034, 7.38%) and R25 bln in the 7y OFZ 26223 (February 2024, 6.5%). This was the largest placement volume in several years. The bonds were oversubscribed by a respective 2.6 times and 3 times and were placed with respective weighted average yields of 7.40% and 6.82%.

Investor sentiment remains very strong, with the JPM EMBI Global Diversified up by 1.0% in May so far (vs +2.2% in April) and the year-to-date loss reducing to 1.5%. EME Equity Market â€“ April 2018 Market performance â€“ ASE gained the most in April, while the ISE30 lost the most. The MSCI EME dropped by 3.2% mom in EUR terms. The ASE index (+10% mom) reported the largest rate of return, followed by the Polish WIG20 index (+2.9%), and the BUX (+2.7% mom); while the Turkish ISE30 lost -10.4% mom, followed by the Russian MICEX (-6.3% mom), and the Czech PX index (-1.4% mom). The Romanian BET index stayed fairly flat (-0.1% mom).
