MARKET COMMENT - US STIMULUS HOPES FUEL RALLY; COVID-19, POLITICAL HEADLINES IN FOCUSMost global stock markets secured gains, led by a 1.6% surge on the S&P 500. A new push for compromise on the next US stimulus bill provided markets hopes of new funding and economic support before the US election. Russia was one of the poorer performers, the RTS edging up 0.2% on the back of a slide in the ruble to above USD/RUB 79, which was linked in the media to regional geopolitical headlines.
