MARKET COMMENT - GLOBAL MARKETS CALM AHEAD OF RESULTS, SANCTIONS, OIL EVENTS THIS WEEKGlobal markets broadly retreated on Friday, the MSCI EM falling 3.2%, MSCI Europe 2.8% and S&P 500 0.5%. As the global bond market eased late Friday, some US stock segments picked up gains, leading the NASDAQ Composite to gain 0.6% for the day. A combination of debt purchases and verbal interventions from global central banks arguably eased the pressure in bonds; a rational adjustment to Thursday's wild swings may also have been in play.
