VEON has announced that it has agreed to sell its stake in Wind Tre and exit the Italian market. The proceeds will be used to reduce leverage and streamline the ownership of assets in Pakistan and Bangladesh. We believe the deal is positive for the company, and it has already resulted in the bonds repricing. We still see value in the VEON bonds issued by GTH Finance, whose structure will change following the deal.
