Wire Tap - Taxi in Russia and Other News
Today we launch "Wire Tap," a new product highlighting interesting local news that might not otherwise make it into sell-side research. Each issue will also feature a deeper look at one theme. In this inaugural piece we focus on the taxi market. Based on research by a Russian government think tank and our Sberbank CIB Ivanov Tracker, we still see huge scope for further disruption to the traditional taxi business. Yandex.Taxi together with Uber still account for just 10% of rides, while telephone-based orders dominate the market.
