The company's Cable Networks segment creates and acquires programming for distribution and viewing on several media platforms. The company's Filmed Entertainment segment develops, produces, finances, acquires and distributes films, television programming and other entertainment content in various markets and media worldwide. The company's Publishing segment publishes and distributes Simon & Schuster consumer books domestically and internationally and includes imprints such as Simon & Schuster?, Scribner?, Atria Books? and Gallery Books?.
Whitestone REIT is an internally managed real estate investment trust engaged in owning and operating commercial properties in various markets in metropolitan areas. Substantially all of the company's business is conducted through its operating partnership, Whitestone REIT Operating Partnership, L.P. The company owns commercial properties in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Scottsdale and Phoenix, AZ metropolitan areas, and Buffalo Grove, IL, a suburb of Chicago.

- The governing accounting bodies have created more leeway for mis-estimates and mis-classifications as financials have become unwieldy and overwhelming
