AT&T 1Q26 Quick Take: Key metrics mostly ahead-ish

AT&T reported 1Q results that should largely ease concerns about a major sector disruption emerging following the large-scale C-suite changes that unfolded at the end of last year. The company did expend effort to keep expectations in check with the closure and integration of the new Lumen fiber assets mid-quarter. All guidance was reiterated. Importantly, ARPU and subscribers and margins were all in-line to slightly better. This should set up the balance of the sector for few surprises (except for the DT/TMUS headlines of course), which we think the market will appreciate.
