Aluminum prices have declined sharply following news that the U.S. government is providing a path for sanctions on Russian aluminum giant Rusal to be lifted. The U.S. Treasury announced that it would consider lifting the sanctions if Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska relinquished his stake in the aluminum producer.
