Proximus Agrees to Buy TeleSign for $230 Million; Shares Fairly Valued
Proximus announced on April 25 that its BICS subsidiary has agreed to buy TeleSign for $230 million. BICS is Proximus' international carrier business, and by teaming up with TeleSign's authentication and mobile identity services, it will become the first operator with the ability to authenticate customers globally. BICS has historically had very low margins, and this deal offers opportunities for cross-selling services that should help its margins.
