Total Reports Drop in Earnings; Management Proposes Higher Dividend, but Scrip Remains

The theme of the past two years for integrated majors has been cost reduction, and Total delivered on this front ahead of schedule. Operating costs were reduced by $2.8 billion, versus a target of $2.4 billion, and efficiencies are expected to grow to $4 billion by 2018, while capital expenditure came in slightly below target.
